Visible results the next day, lasting 2-4 weeks

Reasons to love microdermabrasion

Simple and non-invasive, microdermabrasion is like a regular facial, but one which goes a little deeper into your skin. It uses no chemicals, so it’s suitable for all skin types – even if yours is sensitive. There’s no downtime after the treatment either.

It’s a perfect pick-me-up for your skin, and it doesn’t end once you leave the clinic – when you’re back at home, it’ll help your skin absorb the products you use everyday.

How microdermabrasion works

Dermabrasion is really simple – we use a diamond tipped wand to exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin from the skin’s outer layer.

This makes room for newer, healthier skin and stimulates blood flow too, which can improve cell production and leave you with a softer, brighter, smoother look.

Preparing for your treatment

There’s no prep required before this treatment – all you need to do is enjoy your treatment and the results.

If your skin is wounded or irritated, we’d recommend trying our Yellow LED light therapy instead – as the exfoliation of this treatment could further irritate your skin.

If you have acne, we would also recommend a peel and our LED Blue & Yellow treatment – talk to one our therapists about a skin plan that works for you.

For any clients with beards, we advise you to shave 24hrs prior to your appointment so that treatment can be performed effectively.

Dermaplaning

What is Dermaplaning?

As we age, our cell turnover decreases and this affects our skin texture and tone. Dermaplaning is a treatment whereby the upper layers of skin are removed using a surgical scalpel with specific technique. In doing soul the overall appearance, feel, look & complexion of skin is boosted. Dermaplaning also treats a myriad of skin concerns, such as fine lines/wrinkles, scarring and more. The new layer of skin gives the patient a rejuvenated, glowing and more youthful appearance.

Dead skin cells make your complexion look dull and contribute to clogged pores and spots. Dermaplaning clears the way so skin peels, facials, skin products and serums can get down into the skin where they need to be rather than sitting on the skin’s surface. It also removes peach fuzz / vellus (fine) hair on the face and creates clear channels into the skin as well as a soft, smooth surface for makeup to glide on flawlessly.

What happens during Dermaplaning treatment ?

Once you have completed your consultation, your dermaplaning treatment will commence with your skin therapist. A surgical blade is used to remove dead/congested skin from your face. The blade is moved across the skin at a 45-degree angle for around 20 to 30 minutes for optimal results. This also removes velds (fine) hair & ‘peach fuzz’. This removal of skin tissue will make skin glow and remove any dullness or lack of tone in the skin. The new layer of healthy skin cells will also create a smoother, more youthful look.

Why choose Dermaplaning?

Dermplaning is the ultimate solution for those who do not want multiple sessions to see results. Dermaplaning is the ideal ‘quick fix’ treatment taking just 30 minutes. This is a method of deep exfoliation using a surgical grade scalpel that gently scrapes off the top layer of dulling, dead skin and fine hair. Your skin is instantly luminous with a glow that is impossible to achieve from at home exfoliation.Dermaplaning is incredibly popular amongst celebrities as it also helps eliminate the ‘peach fuzz’ that can often leave your makeup looking cakey. Removal of this facial hair, along with the dead skin cells, creates a truly bright and beautiful complexion. It also allows for much greater penetration of your skincare products too, leaving you with longer lasting results.

Who is suitable for Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning can be used on all skin types except those with active or deep cystic acne.Dermaplaning is a great treatment for anyone with dry skin, fine lines, pigmentation and acne scarring. It is particularly beneficial for ageing skin to assist with cell turnover. It’s recommended that any breakouts clear before undergoing this treatment.

How often should I have Dermaplaning?

We recommend having Dermaplaning every 4-6 weeks.
